In July 2024, we had another opportunity to visit Prince Edward County and spend some quality time with our friends Mark and Terry. After checking in at the lovely Wellington Willows, we met up with Mark and Terry at Base 31 for wine and delicious dinners in The Commissary open air food + drink court market before taking in an amazing Friday evening Miss Emily concert in the Sergeants Mess Hall.

After another delicious Wellington Willows breakfast, we set out on a day of adventure visiting some of the Wellington markets. We also visited a couple of our favourite spots including Domaine Darius, Hubbs Creek, and the Slake Brewery before heading to Mark and Terry’s campground. After dinner, we went to The Hayloft to take in the truly one of a kind Ugly Burlesque show.

After yet another delicious breakfast, we said a reluctant farewell to our delightful hosts David and Esther and their lovable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Bella, before heading home. We took the slow scenic route along Lake Ontario which gave us the chance to enjoy the Glenora ferry, purchase Saskatoon berries from the Berries by the Bay farm, stop at Hucks Marina, and visit with my cousin Alistair at his marina before arriving back in Ottawa for my daughter Rebecca’s pre-birthday dinner.
