Our second honeymoon was a fabulous trip to PEI in September, 2023. We started with an enjoyable direct flight to Charlottetown on Porter followed by a delicious lunch at Salt and Sol at the Charlottetown Yacht Club. After an afternoon walk on Brackley Beach, we had an amazing dinner at the North Shore Canteen.

After a night in Charlottetown, we set off on a day trip that included a walk along the pier in Victoria, a wonderful lobster roll lunch at Richard’s Fresh Seafood stand in Brackley Beach, a wander through the both impressive gardens at The Dunes Studio Gallery & Cafe and the grounds of Dalvay By the Sea. We then checked in at Inn at Bay Fortune before heading for a visit and tour of Georgetown followed by dinner with Thomas’ sister Gwen and brother-in-law Randy.

After a refreshing night sleep and a delicious breakfast and the bonus opportunity to watch the breaking down of a 400 lb+ tuna, we set out to take in the singing sands and blustery winds at Basin Head Provincial Park and the sights and shopping of Souris. We returned to the Inn at Bay Fortune in good time to take in the signature event of this trip – the Feast of Fire – which included a culinary farm tour, oyster hour, and a most amazing Fireworks Feast meal that we were able to pair with some delicious wine and share with our good friend Kristen.

Our last day in PEI, started with another delicious breakfast and a trip down the East coast which included a walk along the beach at Sally’s Beach, an informative stop at the Panmure Island Lighthouse, and picking up some ADL butter to join us for our return flight to Ottawa.

And for our next trip to PEI – stay at Dalvay By the Sea!
